I recently had the opportunity to attend a fun day hosted by local group Parenting Additional Needs based 15 minutes up the road in Matlock, Derbyshire.

Parenting Additional Needs Fun Day
Always wanting to help local community (and to spend a day out of the office playing with toys) I leapt at the chance to visit and take some products up for the children to play with and to chat to local parents. It was an absolutely great day and it was fantastic to catch up with some of the founding members to learn about their cause.
Parenting Additional Needs was set up by parents with children with additional needs who found there was a lack of support once a child is diagnosed with a condition.
The official background from founding member Emily Brailsford is:
“We are a parent led group which offers support, information and holiday activities to families of children with additional needs. We have been meeting now for two years, and currently support in the region of 25 families in Derbyshire. We meet on a monthly basis and this year due to increased demand, we are expanding our meetings to include evening meetings and father/grandparent meetings…”.
As you can see from the pictures the kids had a great time as did Dan (no photographic evidence provided!) and we hope that Rompa and Parenting Additional Needs can work closely together moving forward.
