I recently had the opportunity to attend a fun day hosted by local group Parenting Additional Needs based 15 minutes up the road in Matlock, Derbyshire.

Always wanting to help local community (and to spend a day out of the office playing with toys) I leapt at the chance to visit and take some products up for the children to play with and to chat to local parents. It was an absolutely great day and it was fantastic to catch up with some of the founding members to learn about their cause.

Parenting Additional Needs was set up by parents with children with additional needs who found there was a lack of support once a child is diagnosed with a condition.

The official background from founding member Emily Brailsford is:

“We are a parent led group which offers support, information and holiday activities to families of children with additional needs. We have been meeting now for two years, and currently support in the region of 25 families in Derbyshire. We meet on a monthly basis and this year due to increased demand, we are expanding our meetings to include evening meetings and father/grandparent meetings…”.

As you can see from the pictures the kids had a great time as did Dan (no photographic evidence provided!) and we hope that Rompa and Parenting Additional Needs can work closely together moving forward.

Those with an attentive disposition will have realised that Rompa Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of Flaghouse Inc, based in New Jersey, USA. Although the two are separate companies; we do all we can to make sure that we learn and share information with one another in order to help our customers.

As part of our efforts to work more closely together, we had a VIP visit Rompa HQ to see what the UK team has been up to. George Carmel arrived to strengthen the bonds between the two companies.

During his time here, we managed to get through all sorts, ranging from better purchasing (better prices for you) to new product development (better products as well). Good news all round then… George was also kind enough to officially open our brand new sensory room, based in our office, showing the latest interactive technologies using Sensory Magic as the hub of the environment www.sensory-magic.com.

The room was designed and created for our staff to enjoy an immersive and calming environment, where creativity and teamwork could prosper and blossom. As well as allowing our customers to come in and see how Rompa’s sensory rooms really do stand out from the crowd…

If you would like to visit us and see a demonstration of the room and equipment, please contact us on 0845 230 1177 or he[email protected]. All in all a very worthwhile and successful trip.
