These are a versatile resource, supporting therapeutic, learning and play environments by teaching handwriting skills and development of precise and purposeful fine motor control. They are visual, tactile, cool and smooth to the touch, can be used indoors or outdoors and offer a durable reinforcement tool for practice when using other mediums such as sand or mud for writing.

Opportunities for multisensory activities include sequencing the alphabet, naming objects that begin with the letter, say the sound etc as well as practicing fine motor control, recognition of pattern and shape.
