Develop higher level language skills with these easy to pick up and use resources, developed by a Speech and Language Pathologist. The series are fully photocopiable. This specific title is focused on developing higher language skills, combining various essential skills based around stories. Full information below.

Listening to a story, understanding its meaning, remembering details, and then being able to verbalise answers to questions related to the content of the story are essential steps in developing higher level language skills.

In this resource, which was developed by a Speech and Language Pathologist, these skills are targeted and follow specific steps in a structured manner. There are four main skills that are combined in activities, so that children can learn and recognise that each skill is dependant on the others. To determine how well the details have been retained: sentence completions and answer choices are provided for each story. These reinforce remembering the details and assist the children in the final step of retelling each story.

At the end of every four stories, a summary is presented to show how well the participants have retained details.

The resource is fully photocopiable and uses fun black and white images. Suitable for ages: 5 to 9 years.
